I managed to get out for some fishing this morning. (My first trip of
the year). It was about 45 degrees with a light East wind. I fished
the last of the outgoing tide at a small creek on Shinnecock Bay in
Southampton, NY. I got there at about 3:45AM and was fishing by
4:00AM. I caught my first (and only) bass at about 5 a.m. It was 18 -
20 inches. I later hooked and lost one bluefish. All fish were
caught using a yellow and white Hollow Fleye. I'm back out mid week and will report back.
As some of you know, I had posted a countdown clock 2 months ago. I beat the clock by 1 day and 9 hours!
Nice work Jason. I'm still striperless in '08. I had hoped to get one on the books before May 1st but no it doesn't look like that'll happen.
