Not all fishing guides and charter captains are created equal. Price, while important of course, is probably not the main consideration when booking a guide as most fishermen would spend any amount if they knew they would catch fish. Knowledge of where the fish will be in any given condition is probably most important followed by personality. There is nothing more disappointing than paying $700+ and not catching fish. A good personality can at least ease the pain. I am working on a list of the best guides in the U.S. and would love any recommendations from our readers. Send an email to info@thefin.com with the guide or charter captains name as well as your reason for recommending them.
