I have been testing out this free service from 80108 media and am really liking it. They are "a mobile media company that creates and distributes timely, bite-sized local mobile content." I only use it for weather reports but they offer many more services if you want them. I have it set to send me the weather forecast for Montauk, NY every morning which they send out via SMS to my Blackberry. The reports are short and sweet:

Chance of a morning shower. Sun and clouds mixed. High 79F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
Reply 'C' for current conditions
The best part is the "Reply 'C' for current conditions". I use that several times a day to keep tabs on whats going on with current conditions. They also send you alerts if there are any weather advisories.
