If you are like most fishermen then you mainly fish on the weekends.. Depending on the type of fishing you do this can put you at a disadvantage. When fishing only two days out of the week its hard to keep in touch with the pattern of how, where, and when the fish move. Unlike trout most saltwater fish are constantly on the move following their food source. Enter online fishing reports. These days anyone with a computer can post reports which may in turn help others get an idea of what's going on. But, there are at least 2 major problems with chasing reports. First, just because the fish were there yesterday does not mean they will be there today. Second, in most cases you have no idea who is posting the reports you read online, so there is a validity question. What to do? You actually need to learn how to fish. No matter what you fish for, to increase your catch ratio, you need to learn how to read different types of water, learn weather, tide, and bait patterns, and learn how to use the different lures, flies etc. Sounds simple doesn't it? Test yourself by going to a new spot, one you know nothing about at all (no reports, tips etc)...........Can you fish?
